James "J.K." Kenneth Avery, Jr.

James “J.K.” Kenneth Avery, Jr., 82, of Trenton passed away Monday, March 18, 2024 at his home. He was an extreme avid fisherman and dedicated racing enthusiast. J.K. loved gardening and farming, he even had his very own produce stand.

He is preceded in death by daughter, Caroline Jeanette Avery; parents, James Kenneth Avery, Sr. and Lois Rouse Avery.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Brenda Lewis Avery of the home; two daughters, Bonnie Avery Asher of Kinston and Sarah Smith Carter and Joseph; four sons, Emmett Paul Avery and wife Gail of Kinston, Morris Glenn Avery of Kinston, Brendan “B.J.” Avery and wife Brittany of Trenton, David Smith and wife Virginia of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Jessica Wilson, Amanda Avery, Dillion Coltrain, Jacob Avery, Alex Avery, D.J. Asher, Langley Street, Breeana White, Marissa White, Austin White, Bailey Carter, Elanna Smith; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2024 at his home.
