Janice Carol (Sullivan) Garris

Janice Carol Sullivan Garris, 75, of LaGrange passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

She is preceded in death by her husband who was the love of her life, Kenneth Garris; and her parents, William and Letha Sullivan; sister, Carolyn Sullivan; brother, Larry Garris.

Janice loved her children Craig Daughety and wife Rhonda, Dawn Jones and husband, Scott, and April Barrow and husband Keith. Grandchildren, Mackenzie Daughety, Isaiah Jones, Caleb Barrow and wife Jordan, Cameryn Barrow and fiancé Caden Rector, and great grandchild Holden Barrow; special nieces and nephews that she held dear include Donnie Garris Jr, Pam Garris, Adam Garris, Seth Garris and Lyndsey Garris.

Other people who provided great comfort for her and that she loved dearly were Pastor Tim Lanier and his wife Susie and Pastor Paul Lanier and his wife Pastor Debbie Lanier and Pastor Allen Stocks.

She was a labor and delivery nurse at Lenoir Memorial Hospital for many years she loved bringing babies into the world. After she retired, she became a private duty nurse and enjoyed taking care of her patients, who always became her family. Her dog, Copper and her Parrot, Sky loved her and were great companions and protectors over her and she loved them dearly. Bryce Grady also held a special place and also became like family to her. She knew that she could call him anytime.

Janice enjoyed working in her yard with her flowers and cake decorating as a hobby. She was also amazing at making homemade biscuits.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
